    Join Summit Music and Arts for "Love is... a Work of Art" with Violinist Jerilyn Jorgensen and Pianist Cullan Bryant. This Valentine's Day program includes Sonata No.6 in A, Op. 30 No.1 by Ludwig van Beethoven; Sonata, Op. 11 No. 2 by Paul Hindemith; and Sonata in E-flat, Op. 18 by Richard Strauss. Jerilyn Jorgensen is a member of the performance faculty of Colorado College and has been adjunct faculty in violin and chamber music at the Lamont School of Music of the University of Denver. Cullan Bryant is among the most active collaborative pianists in New York maintaining an active schedule of recitals. Doors open at 3:00 for a Visual Artist Exhibit with paintings by Amy Evans.     Basil Vendryes has been Principal Violist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra since 1993; and currently serves on several faculties including the Lamont School of Music of the University of Denver. Basil has performed with many orchestras worldwide. James Howsmon is the NEA Conservatory Professor of Instrumental Accompanying at the Oberlin Conservatory; and has performed in over 1,000 recitals in North America, Europe, and Japan; and with many major orchestras.     "Portraits of Bach" offers intriguing glimpses into the personality of Johann Sebastian Bach – man and musician – through enticing musical excerpts and brief readings from his letters. Musical selections come from three of the master’s timeless collections - Anna Magdalena Notebook, The Well Tempered Clavier, and A Musical Offering. Musicians from the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado will perform on period instruments – Baroque violin, viola, cello, and harpsichord – joined by a guest reader and mezzo soprano.     Summit Music and Arts is again providing an exciting opportunity for musicians and composers ages 10-18 residing in Clear Creek, Eagle, Grand, Lake, Park, Routt, and Summit Counties to enter one or more original compositions for critique, and if selected, the opportunity to perform their original composition on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 6:00pm at Summit Middle School Auditorium, Frisco, CO. Deadline for entries is Friday, April 1, 2016.
