    A New Year Celebration Concert - An Evening of Chamber Music for the Season

    Join Summit Music and Arts Artistic Director and Artist in Residence Len Rhodes, and Dercum Center's Artistic Director and Violinist Chas Wetherbee in a special evening of music to bring in the New Year. With Julianne Scott, clarinet; Paul Nagem, flute; and Janet Harriman, harp. Presented by the Town of Silverthorne in partnership with Summit Music and Arts and the Dercum Center for Arts and Humanities. Steinway piano is provided by Schmitt Piano Denver. "Friends of Summit Music and Arts" must confirm their reservations at 970-389-5788 as seating is limited. Refreshments will be served. This is the third concert of the Summit Music and Arts 2014-2015 Concert Series.     An exciting collaboration with the Breckenridge Music Festivals Encore Winter Series. BMF Orchestra artists celebrate 2015 with duos by American composers Aaron Copland and David Bruce, and Cesar Franck's Piano Quintet. Welcome back Michael Linville, piano; Kate Hatmaker, and Meghan Jones, violin; Susan Pardue, viola; and Alex Greenbaum, cello. This is the fourth concert of the Summit Music and Arts 2014-2015 Concert Series.     Basil Vendryes in Concert

    Summit Music and Arts welcomes the return of violist Basil Vendryes with pianist William David. Basil Vendryes has been Principal Violist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra since 1993. He is a former member of the San Francisco Symphony, the New York Philharmonic and the Rochester Philharmonic orchestras. Mr. Vendryes has recorded for Columbia, Phillips, Decca, RCA and Nonesuch, as well as chamber music for the Cadenza Music, Centaur, CRI and Naxos labels. Mr. Vendryes plays on a rare Italian viola made in 1887 by Carlo Cerruti. This is the Fifth concert of the Summit Music and Arts 2014-2015 Concert Series.     The Boulder Brass has been thrilling audiences throughout the United States for nearly two decades and is consistently lauded for its virtuosity and brilliance, as well as its engaging programming. “The conventional wisdom is that the best players can only be found in the major cultural centers of NY, London, Berlin, etc., but the Boulder Brass have blown that theory out of the water.” Christine Reed, formerly VP of Artists and Repertoire, Sony Classical (New York). This is the sixth concert of the Summit Music and Arts 2014-2015 Concert Series.
