    The Boulder Brass and Barry Westerland Fine Arts Exhibition

    Attention All Brass Players! Do you remember the "good ol' days" of high school and college band? Whether you are a beginner or retired band musician or just an enthusiast of brass music, Summit Music and Arts is providing an outstanding opportunity to hear one of the premiere brass ensembles in the country. Nationally-acclaimed The Boulder Brass program will include Concert Etude (1948) by Alexander Goedicke; Second Elizabethan Suite by Giles Farnaby; Tango Nuevo Suite by Astor Piazzolla; Suite for Brass by Johann Sebastian Bach; Grand Canyon Sinfonia by Eric Ewazen; and Concertino, Opus 94 (1953) by Dmitri Shostakovich. -- Meet Summit County Artist Barry Westerland and view his watercolor exhibit at 3:00pm preceding The Boulder Brass concert at 4:00pm. Mr. Westerland's paintings can be seen in the Arts Alive! gallery in Breckenridge and the Georgetown Gallery. Mr. Westerland is kindly donating a portion of his sales at this event to benefit Summit Music and Arts. This is the fifth concert of the Summit Music and Arts 2014-2015 Concert Series. A "Friend of Summit Music and Arts" is entitled to free admission to all series concerts (look under "DONATE" to see a list of benefits). Art Exhibition: 3:00pm. Concert: 4:00pm.     The Carpe Diem String Quartet with pianist Len Rhodes will perform the music of Grieg, The Beatles, Piazzolla, Fujiwara, and Webb. This concert benefits both the Dercum Center for Arts and Humanities and Summit Music and Arts. This is the sixth concert of the the 2014-15 Summit Music and Arts Concert Series.
