Jonathan Boyer began studying the piano at the age of 11 with Adrienne Sielaff, and continued with Dr. David Korevaar, with whom he has worked since the age of 15. Musical influence has also come from Boris Slutsky, Nikolai Demidenko, Michael Oelbaum, Victor Rosenbaum, and others. He has participated in numerous music festivals, most recently the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City, and the Mozarteum Sommerakademie in Salzburg. He has presented concerts in Colorado, Minnesota, and New York, as well as in Germany, Austria and Italy. In addition to the classical piano repertoire, an interest in 17th century music led to studies of the harpsichord and Baroque performance practice with Elizabeth Farr. As a chamber musician, he has performed with various wind and string ensembles and with vocalists. He is also active in exploring contemporary music written for piano, and has performed music by living professional composers and student colleagues. Directions to the event will be sent upon RSVP at 970-389-5788.
